The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital has 1 or 2 Senior Fellow’s in Young Adult Hip Surgery.

The department undertakes a comprehensive range of surgical procedures from hip preservation surgery through to custom made implants for complex primary total hip replacement. It is intended that the appointees will be able to gain experience in the management of hip arthroscopy, reorientation pelvic and femoral osteotomy and complex primary hip arthroplasty. The timetable can be tailored depending on the appointees’ specific area of interest. Potential areas include: Hip Resurfacing, Hip Replacement (cemented, uncemented and custom-made cases), computer assisted and robotic assisted hip arthroplasty

The individuals appointed to the posts will have competed orthopaedic training and be on the Specialist Register for Trauma and Orthopaedics and may have already completed or be undertaking a training Fellowship in Hip or Knee Surgery.
