Welcome to the July 2026 edition of the BHS newsletter. As we hopefully reach the end of the recent heatwave, we are delighted to bring you the latest updates, key developments and detail about our sessions at the upcoming BOA congress in September. This issue features a range of important initiatives, including the ongoing BHS membership survey, which aims to gather your valuable feedback and help shape the society’s future direction. We are also pleased to announce the publication of a new BHS Surgical Standard focused on high-risk primary hip replacement and the completion of the James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership on young adults with hip pain. We hear from Ben Oakley, having recently completed the Future Leaders Programme and finally, James Shelton provides an in-depth look at the work of the newly formed International Development Committee.
