Profile statement

I have been a Consultant in a mid sized DGH for 11 years. My practice is a mix of Primary and Revision Lower Limb Arthroplasty plus general trauma with an interest in Peri prosthetic work. I recall being told regularly at every stage in my career from 16 onwards, that it was unlikely I would ever achieve my goal of becoming a consultant surgeon.

I have been fortunate in my career to work in various hospitals where I have found individuals whom have consciously or unconsciously become mentors for me and encouraged me to succeed which has shaped me as a surgeon and a trainer. I am committed to training and have been nominated as regional trainer of the year several times and won a couple of years ago. As well as a clinical supervisor and Educational supervisor, I am also a current FRCS(Orth) examiner, Consultant Mentor locally and a Consultant Appraiser.
