Profile statement

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon working at County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust.
I underwent my higher surgical orthopaedic training from Northeast England, then underwent further fellowship training in hip and knee replacements from the University of Toronto, the centre for hip surgery, Wrightington and then the Golden Jubilee Hospital, Glasgow. 
I was awarded the British Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship to Endo-Klinik, Hamburg and University Hospital, Copenhagen, where I received training in rapid recovery programme following hip and knee replacements.



Having done a certificate in medical education, I have demonstrated a keen interest in academic activities and is actively involved in teaching and training. I am the Royal College tutor for surgical trainees at County Durham Darlington NHS and an orthopaedic surgical trainer. Prior to this role, I have been a foundation programme tutor and was mentoring trainees with additional needs. I have been a faculty member at FRCS (Orth) preparatory courses and have co-authored a FRCS Orth book chapter. I am a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Hip Society. 
I am a flexible, approachable and value work life balance for all of us. I am happy to mentor foundation doctors, core surgical and junior higher surgical trainees. I can offer guidance and support in person or virtually.
