Clinical

• Elective clinic consisting of new patients and follow-ups: primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty
• Weekly elective theatre list consisting of primary and complex primary hip and knee arthroplasty
• Weekly elective theatre list comprising predominantly revision knee and hip arthroplasty
• Weekly trauma list with exposure to hip fractures, periprosthetic infection, periprosthetic fractures and general

Trauma

• Parallel and stand-alone independent operating lists
• Training regional to do primary arthroplasty and general trauma
• Weekly MDT meetings for complex cases including infection and tumour
• Expected number of cases = 200 per year as first surgeon

Academic

• Large NIHR supported academic unit with links to University of Leeds
• Exposure to all forms of research including basic science, clinical research and RCTs
• Expected to publish at least 2 papers as first author

Management

• Weekly organisation of arthroplasty MDT
• Postoperative ward patient care
• Theatre management
• Planning of complex cases
