24th June – BHS/BOA Culture and Diversity Meeting

You are invited to a lecture and discussion co-hosted by the BOA and the BHS around issues faced by black, Asian and minority ethnic staff and patients in the NHS.

The talk will highlight the implications for efficient and effective patient care and training the next generation of surgeons.

The aim is to facilitate culturally intelligent leadership and propagate culturally competent care in culturally safe frameworks. The hope is that this talk will enable participants to understand the importance of equality, equip them to achieve an equitable work environment and give them confidence to have the necessary conversations, to foster good relations between different groups.

The online event will take place on Thursday 24th June 2021 from 6:30PM – 8:00PM and will be hosted by Prof Deborah Eastwood Vice-President Elect of the BOA, and Samantha Tross Co-Chair of the BHS Culture and Diversity Committee.
